A FILM described as ‘dire’ in scathing reviews has soared up the Netflix charts despite it shocking Rotten Tomatoes score.
Science fiction and horror movie Firestarter has been released since 2022.
When it first premiered, it received abysmal reviews from critics and a shocking 11% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, Netflix viewers appear to have just discovered the flick and are watching in their droves.
Ryan Kiera Armstrong leads the cast as she plays a young girl with pyrokinetic abilities.
She becomes the target of a government agency with Zac Efron and Sydney Lemmon also starring in the movie.
Despite being directed by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman, the movie grossed just £11.8million at the box office, while costing £9.4million.
The movie has now entered Netflix’s top five charts as fans can’t get enough.
An official synopsis for the movie says: “Charlie is a young girl who can start fires with her mind.
“As she grows, so does her power, and malevolent forces begin to hunt her and her family.”
Meanwhile, Netflix fans are also hooked on a comedy that has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.
Fans are losing it over the second series of SyFy’s Resident Alien on Netflix.
The show, also available on Peacock, is adapted from the comic book series of the same name.
It follows the story of an alien who crash lands in a small town in Colorado.
