The Nation's Weather for Friday, March 22, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Twin storms will impact the eastern half of the nation
tomorrow. The Southern storm will slide eastward near and
along the Gulf coast, delivering the risk for heavy rain and
perhaps some embedded thunder from Louisiana through the
Southeast and into parts of the mid-Atlantic, with an
enhanced flooding threat likely for South Florida. Showers
will extend from Tennessee and southern Virginia to the
north and west, where they will connect with the colder
Northern storm. This feature is expected to bring a zone of
steady and sometimes heavy snow from eastern Iowa to parts
of Lower Michigan, with additional snow tracking across the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Much of New England and the
Southwest will be dry, but a disturbance will push onshore
in the West Coast with rain and mountain snow.
