Human remains discovered in Fairview park, investigation underway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities discovered human remains in Fairview on Tuesday, leading to what is now an ongoing death investigation.

Deputies visited a park near NE Halsey Street and Fairview Parkway after receiving a suspicious circumstances call just after noon.

“Upon further investigation, deputies discovered human remains,” officials said, adding, “we do not believe there is any threat or danger to the public related to the circumstances of this case."

A medical examiner recovered the remains. The cause of death remains undetermined.
