Man turns self in for involvement in 2022 fatal Portland crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man has turned himself in and is facing numerous charges for his involvement in a deadly crash back in 2022, Portland police announced Thursday.

On Dec. 9, officers responded to reports of a car crash in the area of Southeast 118th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Officers found a car that had struck a utility pole and the two men inside the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Further investigation found that speed and alcohol likely contributed to the crash, authorities say.

The passenger, David Lamb, died from his injuries the following day. The driver, Codey Ammons-Brock, survived, police said.

On Wednesday, over a year and a half since the crash, Ammons-Brock turned himself in at the Multnomah County Justice Center on a warrant stemming from an indictment in February, according to officials.

He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree manslaughter, DUII and reckless driving.
