I got a ‘beauty’ for my kitchen at Goodwill for only $2 – I knew it’s value from the handle, people say I scored
A BARGAIN shopper showed off a $2 Goodwill kitchen find that was a marvel.
Although it went undiscovered in her local shop, she was able to determine its proper value from the handle.
Nidia (@albanidia__) shared the thrifting haul in a TikTok video.
She showed off the latest Le Creuset steel pot to join her kitchen collection, which normally retails for hundreds of dollars.
Nidia, however, revealed that she had only shelled out two dollars for it.
“My new beauty – thrifting is the best,” she said.
“I’ve been getting these at the Goodwill outlet stores and since they are pretty heavy they usually price them at $2-$4.”
Opening the lid, she revealed she had purchased the pot in stained condition.
Dark brown stove stains lined the inside and bottom of the pan.
Nidia, however, remained undeterred as she loaded up an army of dish soap and detergents.
Using Bar Keeper’s Friend Liquid Soft Cleanser and Powder Cleanser, she lathered up the bottom.
She formed a paste with the powder and added more cleanser inside the pan for a full cleanse.
Nidia gave the pan a deep scrub and set it aside for an hour.
After a rinse with warm water, she was pleased with the amount of grime and oil that came off.
“Will probably do the bottom again once more,” she said.
Many agreed that thrifting for home goods often turned up the most unexpected treasures.
