Ireland's higher education minister made his bid to become the future leader of the ruling Fine Gael party official on Thursday, a day after Prime Minister Leo Varadkar's shock resignation. Simon Harris is the frontrunner in the leadership contest and at 37 would be Ireland's youngest prime minister.
