Report: Harry Kane statue from his Spurs days finally has a home – Will be installed in the ‘coming months’

Journalist Greg Barradale, who reports for the outlet Big Issue, has revealed that a Harry Kane statute commissioned back in 2019 is still yet to find a new home.

While Kane is often the but of jokes from opposition fans for his lack of silverware, there is no doubt that the striker will go down as one of the greatest English players of all time.

The former Tottenham man is England’s all-time leading goalscorer and sits second in the Premier League’s goal charts behind Alan Shearer, and he might yet harbour dreams of potentially returning to the English top-flight and breaking the Newcastle legend’s record.

Unlike many of England’s greats of recent decades, the 30-year-old also always delivers in major tournaments, having even won the Golden Boot in the 2018 World Cup.

Harry Kane statue now has a home

Barradale has now taken to social media to reveal that a statue of Kane was commissioned back in 2019 and has since sat in storage for nearly five years.

The journalist explained that Waltham Forest Council spent £7,200 to build the statue of the centre forward at the request of residents, and the creation has been waiting to find a home.

Well, that wait is now over. Councillor Emma Best told BBC London: “The statue has a home and will be launched in the coming months.”
