My bridezilla best mate wants me to wear a WIG to her wedding as my hair is ‘unacceptable’ & that’s not her only demand
EVERY bride want their wedding day to be special, with months spent organizing every detail from the flowers to the food.
One woman has taken this to extremes and given her bridesmaids a huge list of rules for the wedding – including removing tattoo.
Rather than simply focusing on sharing her special day with family and friends, the bridezilla become obsessed with every minute detail – including how everyone should look.
It was too much for one of her bridesmaids, who pulled out after being given a detailed binder and 14 page contract.
Later sharing the list on Reddit, she told others that the required wedding look had been “one of the biggest issue’ as it was almost impossible to achieve.
Despite friends from college and knowing the bridesmaid had two visible tattoos, a bear paw and an Eeyore, the bride insisted that they couldn’t be on show.
According to the list: “No visible tattoos. Must be removed or covered with makeup. No jackets or long sleeves to cover them.”
This wasn’t the only issue though, as the bride also wanted to dictate what colour hair her bridesmaids had – and its bad news if you are not naturally blonde or have black hair.
Even the length was decided for them, with the bride saying: “Full head of hair. No shaved sides or back. Must have a wig professionally put on if hair cut is not acceptable.
“Hair can NOT too short. It must be able to be braided. Also if your hair is too long like to your waist, it will need to be cut.”
This was impossible for the bridesmaid, as she explained in the post: “Here is where I started to backpedal and want to walk away. I have very thick but fine hair.
“I keep the sides shaved down and the top and back long like halfway down my back which helps my migraines.”
Nails would also have to be ‘approved’ before the big day, with jewellery (including wedding bands) and glasses would also needing to be removed – even if you need a prescription.
Although the bridesmaid wore glasses, the bride insisted: “No eyeglasses, get contacts or go without for the day.”
Perhaps the most upsetting requests though were about her bridemaids’ bodies, with an expectation that they should all be the same size and have no scars.
The post continued: “You must fit into a size 8 dress. I don’t want to see tents (too big) or rolls (too tight) Dresses have been ordered at size 8 only!”
Having seen the extensive list, the bridesmaid realised that she was never going to fit into the bride’s unrealistic beauty standard.
She explained: “Here is where I started to backpedal and want to walk away…I also just had bariatric surgery so I’m working on losing weight.”
Though the list would have been enough to make most women walk away, the bridesmaid received a bill from the bride.
Having been handed this at the last ‘meeting’, it required the 35-year-old to pay for her outfit, nails, her food and even her hotel rooms – which came to a whopping £1601 ($2,026)!
They were even expected to pay for their own binders (£59/$75 each)!
However, the bridesmaid finally walked away after being after being handed a contract which required each woman to plan an event – with food and drinks.
Having had enough of her bridezilla bestie, the original poster told Redditors: “I tried to explain I can’t afford this and she told me I had to figure it out. I figured she lost a bridesmaid, me.
“She is mad but I don’t care.”
We can hardly blame her.
