Two huge BBC shows returning to screens on same day next month in latest schedule shake-up
TWO BBC shows are returning to screens next month on the same day in a schedule shake-up.
The broadcaster has confirmed the date the new series of The Repair Shop and Race Across The World launch.
In a huge telly night both shows will kick off back-to-back on BBC One.
Beeb chiefs have scheduled The Repair Shop’s new series to begin at 8pm on Wednesday, April 10.
Jay Blades and the rest of the team such as Steve Fletcher and Louise Drover will be back in the barn ready to restore precious items from members of the public.
Meanwhile, Race Across The World’s highly anticipated fourth series will kick off directly afterwards at 9pm.
A new batch of contestants will take on an expedition to reach the finish line first and win a cash prize.
Race Across The World sees contestants take on the challenge of completing a journey through multiple countries, with the first team to reach the finishing point declared the winners.
They’re not able to have their smartphones and have to ditch their credit cards for the race on a tight budget.
It was recently revealed that show execs had given the green light for a fifth series in 2025.
Applications for next year’s show have already opened as bosses call on “intrepid duos” to sign up.
Last year fans were gripped when the BBC aired its first ever celebrity version of the show.
The first episode drew in an average of 6.2million viewers – becoming the joint highest rated episode of the franchise along with the premiere episode of series three of the civilian version.
