‘For crying out loud!’ swipes Jeremy Clarkson as he slams Countryfile presenter’s latest pic
JEREMY Clarkson has taken aim at a Countryfile presenter over a scene from the latest episode.
The Grand Tour star and Sun columnist appears to be a keen viewer of the BBC agricultural show.
During the latest episode Jezza, 63, watched as the show came from Hinton Ampner, a medieval village and country estate near Winchester in the county of Hampshire.
In a flashback clip, veteran BBC broadcaster John Craven was stood in the middle of a field that turned out to be the site of a 3,000-year-old treasure trove.
The location, in Cambridgeshire, had been preserved as a result of a wildfire.
The now 83-year-old donned a hard hat, protective glasses and high vis jacket for the scene which left viewers – and Jeremy – puzzled.
Posting on his official Instagram account, the Grand Tour presenter said: “Why is he wearing a hat and a high visibility jacket? It’s a field for crying out loud.”
His 7.8 million followers agreed, with one replying: “Nothing says safety more than the BBC trying to make a farming programme. Even the sheep sign disclaimers.”
A second wrote: “Makes you wander how many risk assessments had to done for him to be stood there.”
“He needed to make the insects aware of his presence so they could avoid him,” joked a third.
While a fourth commented: “Health and safety gone mad, like most things these days.”
Meanwhile, a Countryfile star was recently forced to apologise to viewers after flashing a rude symbol on screen.
A “naughty” message had been carved onto a rock that left host Anita Rani stunned.
