Four-year-old killed after being hit by a minibus while riding his bike in ‘incredibly sad’ incident
A FOUR-year-old boy has been killed after being hit by a minibus.
The youngster was riding his bike when he was tragically mowed down by the vehicle.
Cops raced to New Rough Hey, in Ingol, Lancashire, at around 4.36pm on Tuesday.
They found a Citroen Relay minibus had set off from being parked before colliding with the schoolboy on his pedal cycle.
The child, who has not been named yet, was rushed to hospital.
He was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.
Lancashire Police is now appealing for witnesses or anyone who might have dashcam footage.
Sargent Matt Davidson said: “My thoughts, first and foremost, are with the family and loved ones of the little boy at this incredibly sad and distressing time.
“His family are being supported by specially trained officers.
“As we investigate what happened, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or had any information that could assist our investigation to come forward.
“Also, if you have any dashcam or CCTV/ring doorbell footage from the area, or any other information that could assist the investigation, then please get in touch.”
