I had the worst BO – my $13 find lasts longer & is cheaper than deodorant, my hygiene tips will have you smelling great
A HYGIENIC woman has decided to take on the battle of the body odor.
She said her method for smelling fresh is cheaper than traditional deodorant.
Cayley (@cayleyxox) filmed herself discussing the hygiene tips in a viral video on TikTok.
She opened up about the struggle with an off-putting smell to her sweat following having children.
Cayley added that regular deodorant wasn’t doing much to offset the odor.
However, she came across a product that addressed her postpartum pit concerns at a cheaper cost than the usual routine.
PIT STOP
“If you struggle with body odor, you have got to start using glycolic acid as deodorant,” she said.
“It’s the best thing I have ever discovered.”
Cayley recommended using her favorite brand, going for the largest size available to ensure she’s never without it.
She replaced her deodorant with The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner in the 240 milliliter size, $13.
The mom-of-three added that she pours the glycolic acid into a spray bottle she purchased from Amazon.
Cayley instructed viewers to use two sprays under the arms for fresh pits until the next day.
She said that switching to glycolic acid didn’t only get rid of her body odor, but came with an array of beauty benefits.
Cayley’s method lightened up hyperpigmentation as well as clearing up razor burn.
Her technique also won’t break the bank — whereas once she was spending more money on deodorant sticks, her spray lasted way longer.
“That $13 glycolic acid bottle will last you well over six months,” she said. “So it’s cheaper.”
CLEAN FREAKS AGREE
The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts on her hygiene routine in the comment section.
“Glycolic acid on the scalp too.” one wrote. “Makes your scalp and hair so healthy and soft.”
“Oh my God I’ll have to try that,” Cayley wrote back.
“I used glycolic acid once in my armpits, it’s been weeks and body odor’s gone,” another added.
“It works so good,” Cayley replied. “I only have to do it like two to three times a week.”
“Wait until you’re peri-menopausal,” said a third. “I have never had a problem with body odor but what the hell.”
“Oh Lord more fun things to look forward to,” Cayley responded.
“How long does it take for the glycolic acid to work?” yet another wrote. “I’m currently postpartum and smell like onions all the time.”
“Girl, been there,” Cayley said. “It would immediately. Like maybe give it a day or two, but you’ll notice a huge difference.”
“Literally deodorant stopped working after I had a baby,” one more said.
For oral hygiene, she said she prefers teeth whitening, tongue scraping, and water flossing — using a tad of peroxide to increase the effectiveness of her floss.
HEAD TO TOE
Cayley also triple cleanses her face, starting with makeup remover balm, washing her face with antibacterial soap, and then a gentle facial cleanser.
For her body, she swears by cleansing it twice — first using antibacterial soap and then a body wash. She stressed not to skip out behind the ears and in the belly button
To clean herself from the inside out, she supplements chlorophyll or parsley capsules in a pinch.
She also double washes her hair, first with a clarifying shampoo and then with a regular one.
For clean clothes, she recommended adding vinegar to the washing machine twice a month to deep clean laundry.
