Irfan Pathan SLAMS Hardik Pandya After Loss vs SRH in IPL 2024 Match, Points Where MI Captain Got it WRONG
Hyderabad: Hardik Pandya has been playing cricket for over a decade, but what happened on Wednesday night is surely a first for the Mumbai Indians captain, During an IPL 2024 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, MI conceded 277 runs. As Hardik is the captain, he faced the heat from all quarters. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan slammed Hardik and also pointed out where he reckoned the MI captain got it wrong. While bashing the MI captain for his strike-rate with the bat, Pathan reckoned Hardik did not use Jasprit Bumrah wisely. Hardik scored 24 off 19 balls.
The captaincy of Hardik Pandya has been ordinary to say the least. Keeping Bumrah away for too long when the carnage was on was beyond my understanding.

If the whole team is playing with the strike of 200, Captain can’t bat with the batting strike rate of 120.

“Wicket was good, 277 no matter how bad or good you bowl, if the opposition has to score that much, they have batted well. They (the bowlers) were good, it was tough out there, almost 500 runs were scored and the wicket was helping the batters, we could have done a few things here and there, but having said that, we have a young bowling attack and we will learn,” said Pandya at the post-match presentation.
Asked to bat first, SRH posted a mammoth 277/3 – highest in the history of Indian Premier League. They surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 263/5 against Pune Warriors India in 2013.
In reply, Mumbai Indians stayed in the chase till the 18th over before managing 246/5 in 20 overs to lose their second match on the trot in the ongoing edition. It was also the first time, 500 runs were scored in a game.
