The Year I Ate New York is starting a new chapter: Welcome to Eating New York, a newsletter about food, straight from our critics’ mouths, available exclusively to New York subscribers.
Every Tuesday, readers will receive authoritative coverage from chief restaurant critic Matthew Schneier or Underground Gourmet columnist Tammie Teclemariam as they dive into the city’s best and most exciting new slice shops, omakase counters, steakhouses, taquerias, and more. Tammie was our inaugural diner-at-large in 2022; she also studied wine and pastry in France. Recently, she’s crisscrossed the city to check out the most hyped hamburger in years, find a new favorite bar, and try late-night hot pot in Flushing.
The newsletter will feature plenty of bite-size recommendations and rankings, too, so you can keep track of all the best things we’re eating — and track them down for yourself. Sign up now, and the Grub Street team will be in your inbox every Tuesday, to highlight absolutely everything you need to know about dining in New York City.
Until now, our permanent collection of newsletters has been available for anyone to read for free. But today, New York Magazine is introducing subscriber-only newsletters, and Eating New York will be a part of that. This means that to continue to get our food writing directly to your inbox, you’ll need to subscribe to New York Magazine. A subscription means you’ll get unlimited access to every vertical (Vulture, the Cut, the Strategist, Grub Street, Intelligencer, and Curbed), as well as our subscriber-only newsletters, including My Week in New York and The Critics.
