IPL 2024: Virat Kohli vs Gautam Gambhir At Chinnaswamy – KKR Post Two Images ‘That Hit Hard’
Bengaluru: The Virat Kohli vs Gautam Gambhir on-field spat in IPL 2023 is still fresh in everyone’s minds. A year later, the two cricketing icons will once again meet on Friday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Unlike the last season, Gambhir is associated with his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders this time. Ahead of the high-octane clash in IPL 2024, the two-time champions posted two images with both in the frame with a sarcastic caption.
While Kohli was caught having a serious look towards Gambhir in one of the photos, the former KKR skipper was seen having a tough look in the other. KKR captioned the post, “In one of the photos, Kohli can be seen towards the direction of Gambhir.”

As far as IPL 2024 is concerned, RCB have won just one out of two games this season with Kohli shining bright with a 77 against Punjab Kings. KKR, on the other hand, won their only game so far in this edition against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Varun Aaron, who has played for KKR and RCB before, is eagerly looking forward to the Kohli vs Gambhir duel off the field. “I don’t want to stir anything but I’m looking forward to the match-up outside the boundary line. Gautam Gambhir is going to be there right beside the Bengaluru dug-out, I don’t know what’s going to happen there. We know Virat likes to have fire in his belly and if he just looks at the Kolkata dug-out, he’s going to get fired up,” said Aaron.
Once teammates at the Indian team, the ugly verbal spat between Kohli and Gambhir began after RCB’s loss to Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium last year. Kohli also had a tussle with Naveen-ul-Haq after the same match.
Speaking on the episode, Gambhir had stated, “It is not about Naveen-ul-Haq. I would have defended any player, that is my job, that is how I am. Why should I not defend my players just because someone has a broadcaster working for him, left right and centre, someone who has more social media presence doesn’t have any right to walk over someone.”
