Terrifying new attraction with 32ft freefall opens in the UK in time for Easter holidays
A THRILLING new ride has opened in the UK – and you can visit this Easter weekend
Zip World in Windemere is home to a number of exciting attractions, including obstacle courses and treetop walks.
And the newest addition is Treetop Drop, which lets riders freefall 32ft.
Guests will climb to the top of the tower, where they can choose between the scariest, the quick drop, which will let you feel weightless when dropping before being assisted to the ground.
Otherwise there is the auto-belay option which is more controlled and less of a sudden drop.
Guests can choose between one, two or three drops, all with views of Lake Windermere.
Anyone above the age of five can go on the ride, which costs £15 for one, or £25 for three drops.
Tom Kenny, general manager of Zip World Windermere, told local media that it is ideal for “any families” due to the young age limit.
He added: “It is a fantastic new addition to Zip World Windermere.
“We wanted to expand on what is already featured at the site by creating something that takes the thrills of the ropes and zip wires to another level.
“The sheer adrenaline rush of the freefall from Treetop Drop offers just that, but with all the safety you would expect from Zip World.”
There are lots of other rides and experiences at Zip World Windermere too.
There is the Full Trek, which sees guests harnessed up before going on a treetop obstacle course 15m above the ground.
There are 32 along the way, including swinging logs, balance bars, rope bridges and 250m triple zip lines.
This is open to anyone over the age of seven.
Younger kids can try the Mini Trek, a similar high ropes course but just 5m above the ground, with 16 obstacles.
Kids over the age of five can go on it.
Otherwise there is the Treetop Nets which has ball parks, tunnels, slides and aerial walkways.
You can even stay the night, with accommodation including camping pods and forest lodges, or nearby hotels and B&Bs.
There are seven Zip Worlds in the UK to choose from, mainly in Wales but also in Manchester.
Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is home to the UK’s first zipline rollercoaster.
Riders are connected to an overhead track by harness with speeds up to 30mph.
The 400m track even has three loops, and amazing views along the way.
Riders move at speeds of up to 30mph while zipping through the 400m track, which has three loops as well as plenty of other twists and turns.
And earlier this year, the seventh Zip World opened in the UK.
Zip World Conwy is an indoor adventure attraction, with a Ninja assault course, stunt jump zone and slides inside.
