Bengaluru: Virat Kohli finally put an end to his controversy with Gautam Gambhir on Friday as the RCB skipper hugged the KKR mentor during their high-octane clash during the second time-out at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The incident took place after the 16th over, when both Kohli and Gambhir embraced each other with a hug and shared a few words of good between them, thus bringing a smile on everyone’s face. Both Kohli and Gambhir grabbed the headlines in IPL 2023 after their heated verbal spat at the end of LSG vs RCB game became one of the most controversial moments in the history of the tournament. Earlier on Friday, during the powerplay of the RCB innings, Kohli laughed when Gambhir was shown on the big screen. Meanwhile, Kohli took the KKR bowlers to cleaners leading RCB to 182/6 in 2o overs. The right-hander remaied unbeaten on 83 off 59 balls that included four fours and same number of sixes. He also got able support from Cameron Green (33) and Glenn Maxwell (28).
Coming after a match-winning half-century against Punjab Kings in the last match, Kohli continued from where he started and was at his absolute best. The way he hit the likes of Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy over the ropes, was a treat to the eyes.
Speaking on how it feels like playing alongside Kohli, Green said, “It’s always nice to bat with Virat, he looked beautiful again today. There’s certain bowlers in their team that I have never faced before. Obviously he has faced some 10 or 20 times, the experience is always amazing.”
