Canned Cocktail of the Week: Vosa's vodka drinks work best when they go hardest
Welcome back to FTW’s Beverage of the Week series. Here, we mostly chronicle and review beers, but happily expand that scope to any beverage that pairs well with sports. Yes, even cookie dough whiskey.
There’s a delineation when it comes to hard seltzers and canned cocktails. There’s no real dirtbag option (aside from Twisted Tea, the drink that tastes like bile!), but there’s a level beyond your White Claws and your High Noons. Something a bit more upscale to hover above the “no laws when you’re drinking Claws” crowd.
Vosa’s selling point is a classier brand of canned cocktail. A craft beverage that promises “the finer things,” which is the brand’s honest to goodness slogan. But I feel like that’s a crowded category, especially with companies like Melograno and Spirited Hive out there — and particularly with Melograno’s absolutely gorgeous cans saying more about the target audience of fancy drinkers than any copy on Vosa’s label could.
That means Vosa is going to have to stand out by tasting better than your typical vodka-based beverage. Let’s see if there’s anything special about it.
