Healthy Incentive Grants awarded to schools in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — 25 school districts across Oklahoma were awarded $387,500 in Healthy Incentive Grants by the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Board of Directors during their March 28 board meeting.
TSETs grant program is used to improve school nutrition, strengthening the opportunities of physical activity and to promote tobacco-free environments for students, staff, and faculty.
The plan is to keep creating a healthy educational environment across the state of Oklahoma.
“These grants are an investment in our future, supporting schools in creating environments that prioritize the health and vitality of Oklahoma's students, staff and communities," said TSET executive director Julie Bisbee.
The grants funded will be used for health-promoting projects which includes upgrading playground equipment, cafeteria equipment, hydration stations and a curriculum for healthy-living.
