Several Artifacts discovered in Eastern Afghanistan
The Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan claims to have acquired some ancient artifacts discovered by locals in the Kalman Valley of Alingar district in Laghman province eastern Afghanistan.
According to the ministry’s statement, these artifacts include a statue, a lion, and a ceramic jug, dating back thousands of years.
After the discovery of these artifacts, Abdul Noor Rasouli, the head of information and culture in Laghman, accompanied by the tourism and culture officer, the security deputy of Alingar, and the director general of historical sites, visited the site.
The statement, citing the head of information and culture in Laghman province, states that the historical artifacts discovered at the site have been obtained, and people have been prohibited from further excavation until further notice.
He added that considering the significance of the discovered artifacts, the site will be registered by the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Amidst such developments, concerns have been raised regarding the Taliban administration’s indifference towards preserving and protecting Afghanistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
The lack of attention to such matters risks the loss of invaluable artifacts and landmarks that hold significant historical importance for the country.
