How much money will a New Yorker get if they win the Powerball jackpot?
NEW YORK (PIX11) – You'll still have a chance to be a millionaire – the drawing for the Powerball jackpot worth $975 million will be held Monday.
No ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing. A winner can choose a cash option of $471 million.
A winner in New York, though, might receive as little as $245.7 million after taxes if they choose to get a lump sum, according to Forbes.
The state of New York has the highest lottery tax at 10.9%, Forbes reported. If a winner in New York chooses to get the money over time, they'll get $509 million.
