Eclipse restaurant specials in the Capital Region
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A total solar eclipse will be passing over North America on April 8 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Some restaurants around the Capital Region are taking advantage of what may be, for some people, a once-in-a-lifetime event.
In the Capital Region, the maximum eclipse will be seen between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. You can look up where and how much of the eclipse will be visible on the Eclipse Soundscapes website. The next time a total solar eclipse will be seen from New York is in 2079.
Area restaurants may be offering food and drink specials, and some are holding events to celebrate the eclipse. Here's where you can find these restaurant specials around the Capital Region.
Margarita City, Colonie
Margarita City is having an Eclipse and Sip event on April 8 on the patio. Make sure to bring your eclipse glasses. From now through April 8, the restaurant is offering La Luna Margarita.

Las Margaritas Mexican Cantina is having an Eclipse Margarita party and offering a special Eclipse Margarita on April 8 with free eclipse glasses to those who get a take-out meal that day.

Galway Rock Vineyard & Winery is holding a Solar Eclipse Watch Party on its patio on April 8. According to the winery, the eclipse from the patio will be at 97.9% totality at 2:23 p.m. The winery will be giving out free eclipse glasses, No ticket is necessary.

Artisanal Brew Works is hosting an Eclipse Watchin' on the Terrace event on April 8 from noon to 6 p.m. The brewery will be offering a special crushable oatmeal stout. Children and pets are welcome on the terrace and attendees should bring their own snacks. No tickets or reservations are required.

The Lagoon is hosting a Solar Eclipse Viewing And After Party on April 8 starting at noon. The radio Junkies will be providing live music starting at 2 p.m. The event also includes drink specials and a space-themed cocktail party. The first 50 guests get a free pair of eclipse glasses.
