New Delhi: Legendary India cricketer Yuvraj Singh felicitated the winners of National Poker Series at a gala award ceremony on Sunday night. The National Poker Series is India’s biggest poker event hosted on PokerBaazi and saw 2.3 lakh participation for a prize pool of Rs 62.5+ crore. The organizers also announced their flagship event G.O.A.T. which is scheduled to be held in October later this year on the occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary. The winner of the G.O.A.T. will receive a guaranteed prize amount of Rs 25 crore.
Delhi’s Deepak Singh was named the overall winner with three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Abhishek Sonu from Bihar came second while Samay Modi of Maharashtra bagged the third position. Maharashtra led the standings with 100-plus medals followed, thus showcasing their dominance on the poker arena. Delhi and Uttar Pradesh came second and third respectively although the margin was very minimal. Participants from tier-II cities like Imphal, Una, Chamba, and Agra also made significant displays thus expanding the talent pool in the sport.
The event was also graced by renowned comedian Abhishek Upmanyu and celebrated Bollywood DJ NYK this year. Poker is one of the fastest-growing mind-sports and popular culture phenomena in the country. Platforms like PokerBaazi are providing poker players with a safe, fair, and engaging platform.
The company also hosted a one-of-a-kind NPS camp to prepare players for National Poker Series India 2024. To continue the momentum of Poker after the commencement of National Poker Series India 2024, the platform also flagged off its MoneyMaker series from April 1 with Rs 1 crore prize pool everyday for the entire month.
