The DMK Congress alliance has been harping on the fact that voting a BJP-ruled government is a challenge to federalism. It has labelled the BJP as a threat to the minority and Dalit communities. On the campaign trail, the DMK alliance has labelled the BJP as an upper caste party which, if it comes to power, would not allow Tamil people to eat non-vegetarian food. The party has attacked the Centre for releasing less funds to states like Tamil Nadu. The demand for scrapping of NEET by the DMK has found wide support in TN as it allegedly puts Tamil students at a disadvantage. The Opposition parties are harping on the alleged corruption involving Stalin’s family, the drug racket issue and the high prices of electricity in the state.
