I only wash my face with oil and mud – my 2-step method healed my acne, my natural cleanser doubles as a moisturizer
IF an extensive skincare routine seems daunting to you, this two-step method may be a better fit.
One beauty pro revealed the unusual products that she said healed her acne.
In her viral video, Katie (@plantedwithkatie) explained that she struggled with her complexion for years.
“I have acne-prone skin, so I used to think that meant piling on more and more products was going to help my skin, but it only made it worse,” she told her followers.
“Even non-toxic gentle brands would make me break out more.”
The TikToker revealed that she started washing her face with just mud and oil.
Katie said she uses the $28.47 Rejuvi C Facial Cleansing Powder.
“It uses clay powder and herbs to gently exfoliate and cleanse my skin,” she explained.
“It’s so simple in ingredients that my face doesn’t have to figure out what the heck I’m putting on it.”
Katie added that a “tiny amount goes a really long way,” so the bottle usually lasts her up to six months.
According to the experts at Ecco-Verde, clay powder is a vital skincare ingredient for oily complexions.
“Clay absorbs excess sebum and draws out impurities in oily skin types whilst providing dry skin with added moisture and natural balance,” they explained.
For her second step, she applied the $20 Organic Castor Oil from the Heritage Store.
“This is not just purely castor oil. I actually used this bottle until it was [half empty], and then I added jojoba oil and black seed oil,” she said.
“If you’ve seen the craze of oil pulling by putting oil in your mouth and swishing it around, it’s similar for your skin.”
Katie explained that applying oil to your skin helps to “draw out all the impurities that don’t come out just with water.”
She also revealed that the product doubles as her everyday moisturizer.

The experts at Healthline attributed castor oil’s acne-healing ability to its antibacterial properties.
They also credit the ingredient with helping combat wrinkles and puffiness as well as soothing sunburns.
Katie praised the products for simplifying her skincare routine and healing her skin naturally.
She added that the mud and oil also helped to reduce redness on her face.
