SOLA Giving Day 2024 May 2, early giving now open

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Early Giving is now open for 190+ nonprofit organizations, churches, and schools registered for the seventh annual SOLA Giving Day. Nonprofits signed up for SOLA Giving Day span Acadiana, the Bayou Region, and Southwest Louisiana.

SOLA Giving Day is a 24-hour, online fundraising event that begins at midnight on May 2 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CST. During this period, the public can make a tax-deductible online donation to the organization of their choice by visiting solagivingday.org.

Early Giving is a four-week period that opened today and closes on May 1 at 11:59 p.m. During Early Giving, organizations can promote participation and begin working towards their fundraising goals by soliciting donations to benefit their SOLA Giving Day campaigns. Donations made online during this time are processed in real-time with an emailed tax receipt sent immediately to the donor. The goal of SOLA Giving Day is to inspire the community to come together to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the projects and programs of the participating organizations.

Since its inception in 2018, SOLA Giving Day has generated over $8.47 million in donations to more than 425 unique nonprofit organizations, churches and schools that serve South Louisiana. In 2023, the effort raised over $1.8 million.

SOLA Giving Day 2024 is sponsored by Love Our Schools, an organization helping connect the community with schools in Lafayette Parish.
