Report: Atletico Madrid are keen on signing 27-year-old from Spurs this summer

Fichajes.net have revealed that Atletico Madrid are now plotting a summer move for Giovani Lo Celso and are prepared to make a sizable offer for the Tottenham man.

With Lo Celso set to enter the final year of his contract at Tottenham this June, the midfielder is expected to seal a permanent exit from the club this summer.

A couple of days ago, Estadio Deportivo reported that the Spurs star is ‘unhappy’ with his lack of minutes under Ange Postecoglou and has already made up his mind to seek a fresh challenge this summer.

The report claimed that the 27-year-old’s former club Real Betis are keeping a close eye on the player’s situation and are considering a move to re-sign him.

Fichajes.net have now revealed that Atletico are now ready to offer Lo Celso a route back to La Liga when the transfer window opens in June.

It is explained that Diego Simeone has long been an admirer of the Argentina international and believes that he would suit his system well.

Simeone has allegedly asked the Colchoneros to sign the midfielder at all costs, with the club said to be willing to put an offer of €20m (£17m) on the table.

There is going to be no shortage of interest in Lo Celso this summer. Tottenham may decide to wait until after the Cope America to sell the 27-year-old as a couple of good performances in the tournament could significantly push up his price.
