Rohit Sharma Should be Back as Mumbai Indians Captain – Suresh Raina Reckons Midway IPL 2024
Mumbai: Ever since Rohit Sharma stepped down as Mumbai Indians captain ahead of the IPL season under mysterious circumstances – things have gone downhill for the most successful franchise. Now that MI has lost five games this season and are on the verge of getting knocked out of the playoff race, everybody wants Rohit back as the leader of the side. Former India cricketer Suresh Raina, who has shared the dressing-room with Rohit on multiple occasions, reckoned he should be reinstated as the captain of the side. Raina said this during an interaction on Lallantop.

Meanwhile, in a little over a month, Rohit would be leading the Indian team at the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. In eight matches, Rohit has amassed 303 runs. He has been in good touch for the MI side, but that has not helped the side get the results in their favour.
Recently, Rohit reached another milestone in his stellar career, completing 6500 runs in his 250th IPL match. Rohit achieved the milestone in the match against Punjab Kings on April 19, 2024.
Rohit is at the fourth spot on the list of all-time highest run-getters in the Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli is at the top with over 7500 runs.
With six more games still remaining in the group stage for the MI side, Rohit’s form would be the key to their fortunes.
