Tristan Stubbs’ Match-Saving Effort On Boundary Makes Difference For Delhi Capitals Against Gujarat Titans – WATCH
New Delhi: Tristan Stubbs made a match-saving effort to deny Rashid Khan a sure-shot six when the South African jumped a few feets over the boundary line to save five runs for Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Titans during their IPL 2024 encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Wednesday. The incident took place on the second ball of the 19th over bowled by Rashik Salam Dar. In the end, the save proved to be the difference between the two teams as Delhi Capitals won the game by four runs.

Against a back of the hand slower delivery by Rashik, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan got under the ball and slammed it down the ground. While the ball looked like to sail over the boundary, Stubbs came flying from nowhere, caught the ball and threw it back into the field as he was falling over. Incidentally, it proved to be the difference maker as Delhi Capitals secured their fourth win in the tournament.
Earlier, Rishabh Pant dazzled with an unbeaten 88 in just 43 balls to power Delhi Capitals to 224/4 in 20 overs. Besides Pant, Axar Patel (66 off 43 balls) too contributed to power Delhi Capitals past 200 runs. In reply, Sai Sudarshan (65 off 29 ) and David Miller (55 off 23) scored fifties but couldn’t take Gujarat Titans over the line, finishing at 220/8 in their 20 overs.
