Brotherhood Playoff Watch: Boston Rolls, Orlando Picking Up Steam

Boston may be coming to terms with nemesis Miami and Orlando is getting its playoff groove back after some weak years.

Saturday was a busy day for the Brotherhood as all four games featured former Duke players.

Orlando beat Cleveland 112-89, New Orleans fell to Oklahoma City 106-85, Boston topped Miami 104-84 and the Los Angeles Lakers took down Denver 119-108.

Paolo Banchero didn’t have a great game for the Magic, shooting just 4-14 for nine points. He had four rebounds and five assists, a steal and a pair of blocks.

Wendell Carter shot 4-6 for 11 points and grabbed five boards.

There is a suggestion that Zion Williamson might make it back for the playoffs after a hamstring strain but with New Orleans down 3-0 that seems less likely. Brandon Ingram had 19 for New Orleans and also had four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.

Miami has been a tough hurdle for Boston lately but usually further on in the playoffs. The Celtics went up 2-1. Jayson Tatum had 22 points in the win. He didn’t shoot particularly well - just 6-16 - but hit 8-12 from the free throw line and had 11 rebounds and six assists.

Los Angeles had lost 11 straight to Denver we believe before Saturday’s win. Cam Reddish is out with an injury and Harry Giles was not listed in the box score though we don’t know why.
