I live in a council house – my kids get £100 for every tooth that falls out… I know it’s a crisis but what’s the rate?
A MOTHER-OF-THREE who lives in a council house has revealed that the local Tooth Fairy gives her kids £100 for every tooth that falls out.
Whitney Ainscough, 30, a self-proclaimed ‘’bad mum‘’ who lives on a council estate in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, told that despite the cost-of-living crisis, her children ”currently get £100 a tooth”.
Whitney, who has three kids – Cora, 11, Addison, five, and Adley, two, with partner, Joel Christopher, 32 – revealed that these days her son even tries to yank some of his gnashers out on purpose, in hopes to rake in some extra cash.
Taking to Instagram, where the rising social media star has won over 30k followers, the mum wondered how much fellow parents give their children.
”I just wanted to ask – what is the going rate of the Tooth Fairy these days?
”I know, cost-of-living, price inflation, you know.
”My kids currently get £100 a tooth. Obviously, I got three kids, so quite a lot of teeth,” Whitney said in the video.
The mum, who makes £4,000 a month and recently splashed out on a brand new Range Rover, added that her son has clocked this and will even take drastic measures to ensure the Tooth Fairy pays a visit more often.
”My son’s trying to yank them out to get a £100,” said Whitney, adding that back in the day she’d get around 50p to £1.
”What does everybody else pay for a tooth? Does it go on how clean it is? If it’s dirty, do they get less money?
Whitney, who found fame after she posted videos on TikTok of grim-looking packed lunches, recently claimed she made an astronomical £15,000 in January and another £17,000 in February.
Although the mum-of-three is raking in a pretty impressive living from her social media accounts – with TikTok alone boasting over 330k fans – Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council said she is “not in breach of their tenancy”.
As reported by The Sun earlier, Whitney forks out just £458 to rent her two-bedroom council property on the outskirts of the town.
Whitney – who also went viral after splashing out £100 on Vivienne Westwood shoes for her daughter – revealed her name is also on a waiting list for a four-bedroom council house, as the current property is too small for the family-of-five.
Why are we in a cost-of-living crisis?
How high is inflation? What prices are increasing fastest? Why have prices increased so rapidly?
As explained by the Institute for Government, the ‘‘cost-of-living crisis’’ refers to the fall in ‘‘real’’ disposable incomes that the UK has experienced since late 2021.
This means that everyday essentials, such as food and bills increases more quickly than average household income.
Some of the causes unique to the UK include labour shortages related to a large number of foreign workers leaving due to Brexit, and extra taxes on households.
Other factors that have only worsened the growing crisis include Ofgem increasing the household energy price cap by a whopping 54%, as well as an additional increase in National Insurance, to name a few, experts have explained.
The mum-of-three has also been brutally trolled on social media, with haters accusing her of ”benefit fraud”.
Hitting back, Whitney exclusively told Fabulous: “I’m not fleecing the taxpayer, something I have been accused of by followers on TikTok.
”I am not committing benefit fraud.
“I was legally entitled to Universal Credit and I’ve paid into the system for many years.
“And after on one occasion making more than £2,000 in a week through my TikTok videos, I’ve now come off benefits and make an average of £800 a week.
“My priorities might be different to other people’s, but so what?
“I don’t judge how other people parent their children, so they shouldn’t judge how I parent mine.”
