We have been watching portions of the rezoning hearings online. Kudos to the mayor and council for sitting through long days of repetitive arguments. It’s also impressive to see the number of concerned presenters who are intelligent, innovative and well-versed in city zoning. Sadly, this has deteriorated into a culture war: right vs. left, socialism vs. conservatives, virtue-signalling feelings vs. pragmatic reasoning.
