‘Babar Azam Is A Quality Player’: Harbhajan Singh Wants Pakistan Skipper To Start Scoring Runs
New Delhi: India legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh lavished praise on Pakistan captain Babar Azam ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in the USA and West Indies from June 02 where Pakistan will face co-host USA in their opener clash of the tournament.
Harbhajan also wanted Pakistan skipper Babar to start scoring runs again as he is going through a rough patch in his career. Azam was recently featured in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and scored 125 runs in five games, which includes a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike rate of 138.88.
Now Babar is leading the Pakistan cricket team in the ongoing T20I series against Ireland where he scored 57 in the first match but Pakistan lost that match by five wickets.
“No doubt Babar is a quality player, and I hope he starts scoring runs,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
After this T20I series Pakistan will face England for the four match T20I series from May 22 to May 30. There are reports that the cricket board will announce their squad for the World Cup on the basis of players performance in the T20I series against England.
