On Friday, the Election Commission of India issued a showcause notice to Abhijit Gangopadhyay, a former Calcutta High Court judge and current BJP Lok Sabha candidate, regarding his remarks deemed "improper, injudicious, and undignified" towards West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
