Tottenham’s final game of the season against Sheffield United is far from a dead rubber, with Spurs needing a point to ensure passage into the Europa League.
Spurs missed out on Champions League qualification following their 2-0 defeat against Manchester City on Tuesday, with Aston Villa sealing a fourth-place finish.
However, Tottenham are now in danger of being leapfrogged by Chelsea on the final day of the season and could subsequently enter the Europa Conference League depending on the result of the FA Cup final.

Permutations for Europe League qualification
Chelsea sit three points behind Spurs with a better goal difference heading into the final matchday which means that if Tottenham lose at Bramall Lane and Chelsea beat Bournemouth, the Blues will finish fifth and seal passage into the Europa League.
If that happens, Ange Postecoglou’s men will face a nervous wait for the result of the FA Cup final, as a Man Utd win over Man City would see the Red Devils qualify for the Europa League and Tottenham consigned to the Conference League.
Spurs will be able to seal a fifth-place finish and Europa League qualification if they avoid defeat at Sheffield United.

Europa Conference League football is the last thing anyone at the club would want and it would be quite embarrassing to finish below Chelsea, given how poor the Blues have been for much of the campaign.
It is thus imperative that we get at least a point at Bramall Lane, which should not be a difficult task, given how poor a side the Blades are and the fact that they have nothing to play for.
