Murdered Ticonderoga Elvis impersonator's wife speaks out
TICONDEROGA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Heidi Greene is still searching for answers over a month and a half since her husband TJ was murdered. She says the suspected killer’s motive makes absolutely no sense to her.
“I'm feeling rather lost...just distraught,” Greene told NEWS10’s Zion Decoteau exclusively.
Distraught after her husband, 49-year-old Thomas Krider (aka T.J. Greene) a local Elvis impersonator, was found dead in the home of 69-year-old Ronald Rayher. Krider's body was discovered on April 9, three days after Heidi reported him missing. What was Krider doing in Rayher’s Milton home?
“He told me that he was getting a box spring from a friend he had met online through some Star Trek group. And I just believed him because that's the kind of relationship we had,” Heidi explained. “They're trying to say that my husband had some kind of contract. For 10 years they had a relationship! I never knew it,” the widow added.
Saratoga County Court documents say Rayher allegedly killed Krider by restraining and binding him, then repeatedly using a chemical described as chloroform on him. Heidi still questions what Rayher’s motive could have been.
“I can't, I can't understand what was going through your head at the time. He was helping you. Not going down there for some….sexual foreplay,” Heidi said, questioning Rayher’s intentions.
Heidi says that her husband was thoughtful and caring, even mentioning that he was last seen on surveillance footage getting a prescription for her. So he would never do something like this.
“And he was picking up my medication that I needed for my depression,” Heidi told NEWS10. “He would not endanger my mental stability,” she continued. Krider was well known in the Essex County hamlet as having a warm personality. And it is that warmth Heidi holds onto now.
“He was a very helpful, kind of person. Very loving and trusting. He made himself available,” she remembered.
Rayher’s case has been moved up to Saratoga County Court. His next court appearance is still pending.
