The Belthangady police filed a case because BJP MLA Harish Poonja used foul language against police officials during a protest. The police arrested Rowdy Sheeter Shashiraj Shetty on May 18 for his involvement in illegal quarrying. The MLA, along with others, allegedly organized a protest without obtaining prior permission in front of the Vikas Soudha in Belthangady on Monday.
