Who is Jagdambika Pal?
Jagdambika Pal has been an MP from Domaryaganj continuously since the 2009 Lok Sabha elections and is once again in the fray from the Domariyaganj Lok Sabha seat in the parliamentary elections.
Notably, Pal served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh from the Congress party for one day after the dismissal of Kalyan Singh as on the post in February 1998.
The Allahabad High Court had termed the dismissal as unconstitutional and Singh was reinstated to the chair.
‘Previous regimes were mafia patrons’
Later, addressing the rally, the Uttar Pradesh CM appealed people to re-elect Pal from the seat to ensure rapid development in the area.
“If Jagdambika Pal wins the elections, the pace of development in the area will accelerate further,” Yogi Adityanath said.
Attacking previous dispensations in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi claimed that before 2017, the mafia used to suck the blood of the public but today they are hiding in the burrows.
Taking a veiled dig at Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav, Adityanath said now people to recite ‘fatiha’ (Islamic funeral prayers) after the death of the criminals.
“These people were the patrons of the mafias,” he said.
