Gansevoort family of three killed in Maryland crash

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Maryland State Police confirmed that a family of three from Saratoga County was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on May 19. The crash took place on U.S. Route 13 in Wicomico County, Maryland.

Troopers responded to the report of a head-on crash around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday. The ensuing investigation determined that the driver of a Dodge Durango was reportedly traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 13 when it collided with a Subaru Impreza.

The driver and the passenger of the Subaru, identified respectively as Dean Dennison, 21, and Sierra Merchant, 20, both of Gansevoort, were declared dead at the scene. A third occupant in the Subaru, identified as Grayson Dennison, 1, of Gansevoort, was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The driver of the Dodge was transported via state police helicopter to a hospital in Baltimore to be treated for his injuries. Maryland State Police stated that charges are currently pending in connection to the incident.

The crash remains under investigation. An online fundraiser has been established to help support the families of the victims.
