Four top documentary filmmakers will reveal secrets behind their projects when they join Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&A event with 2024 Emmy Awards and other TV awards contenders. They will participate in two video discussions to premiere on Tuesday, May 28, at 6:00 p.m. PT; 9:00 p.m. ET. We’ll have a one-on-one with our contributor Charles Bright and a roundtable chat with all of the group together.

The Greatest Night in Pop
Synopsis: On January 25th 1985, dozens of the era’s most popular musicians gathered in Los Angeles to record a charity single for African famine relief. Setting egos aside, they collaborated on a song that would make history.

Synopsis: Powerful female leaders sacrifice and show resilience to protect their families in the world’s untamed regions. Angela Bassett narrates this tale highlighting matriarchies globally.

Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story
Synopsis: Follows the history of Bon Jovi, featuring personal videos, photos, and music that provide a look at Jon Bon Jovi’s life and the band’s journey from New Jersey clubs to global fame.
Bio: Gotham Chopra was a Sports Emmy nominee for “Tom vs. Time.” Other projects have included “Greatness Code,” “Man in the Arena” and “The Game That Changed Everything.”
Wayne Shorter: Zero Gravity
Synopsis: An intimate portrait and cinematic ode to Jazz giant Wayne Shorter’s life and music. Depicted in three parts, each representing a different period of Short’er’s life and music.
Bio: Dorsay Alavi’s career has included “Sweet Underground,” “Better People” and “Zero Gravity Live.”
