The Bronx — Protesters of former President Donald Trump's rally in The Bronx Thursday out-shouted the MAGA supporters, whose small turnout numbers shocked one New York City cop.
More than a dozen people stood atop a rock in Crotona Park on the other side of a police barricade separating them from the former President whose presence in their borough they condemned.
As a handful of MAGA supporters looked up from below, the group had a single-word message that rang out more clearly than the loud speakers blasting Trump's words into the park.
The protesters carried signs that read "Trump criminal trial" — a likely reference to the ongoing hush money trial that has limited Trump's movements to New York City in recent weeks — and the message "Keep NYC MAGA free."
One man in a MAGA hat pointed an angry finger at the protesters and appeared to shout back. His words were lost in the chants.
One woman carried a "Convict Trump Already" sign and wore a #DonTheCon t-sheet that featured an orange, topped with the former president's iconic hair, locked behind bars.
She slammed Trump for calling her nation of origin, Trinidad and Tobago, a "s---hole, country" and noted it was a place women do not risk arrest when seeking an abortion.
"It is very troubling," the woman said of the pro-Trump supporters. "Hopefully those who don't vote will register to vote to make up for these people."
