Agricultural department submits special action plan for drought-hit cardamom plantations in Idukki

Recommendation include planting deciduous trees in order to change the pattern of shade reconstruction on the cardamom farms. Deciduous trees lose their leaves only during the monsoon, thus ensuring shade in the plantations during the summer months
