Video: Mikey Moore on target for the second game in a row

Tottenham Hotspur starlet Mickey Moore was back on the goal trail again on Friday when they scored three unanswered goals to run out 4-1 winners.

The 16-year old began England U17’s UEFA European Championships off with a bang when he scored a brace in thumping 4-0 victory against France with his first coming just just 81 seconds into the match.

Moore made it three goals in two matches when he equalised in the 42nd minute of Friday’s match against Portugal when he buried the ball low into the net.

Unfortunately, Portugal proved to be too strong in the second half with three unanswered second half goals.

England are back in action on Monday when they face Spain.

Moore regularly trained with Ange Postecoglou’s side over the past few months and made his Premier League debut in the final moments of the defeat against Man City.

He then came off the bench again during Spurs’ 3-0 win over Sheffield United last Sunday, with the teenager replacing James Maddison on both occasions.

Moore is one of the most exciting talents to come out of the Tottenham Hotspur academy set up in a long time.

It is refreshing to see the young players having a clear pathway to the Tottenham first team under Postecoglou, something which was not happening under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte who instead preferred to select experienced players in the hope of a win-quick strategy rather than having an eye on the future.
