Man Utd have to sign 20-goal La Liga star available for £21m, 22% conversion rate - View
Manchester United have the chance to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The Red Devils are likely to invest on another centre-forward with Anthony Martial due to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30.
Rasmus Hojlund had a promising debut season with 16 goals and two assists from 43 games, but United need a solid competitor alongside him.
It is unlikely that the club will make another huge outlay this summer, considering the reduced revenue after missing out on the Champions League.
The onus could be on signing an experienced striker for a reasonable price. In our view, En-Nesyri would be a quality purchase for the club this summer.
En-Nesyri’s attributes would suit the Premier League
The 26-year-old has been fancied to move to the English top-flight for some time.
He has been linked with several elite clubs in the league and could finally make the switch, considering his contract with Sevilla expires in the summer of 2025.
En-Nesyri is a traditional marksman with fantastic finishing skills. He netted 20 goals for 14th-placed Sevilla in 2023/24 – 19 of those coming from the box.
50 per cent of those were headed goals. He had a shot-to-goal conversion rate of 22 per cent in La Liga.
In our opinion, En-Nesyri would be a fine competitor alongside Hojlund whose workload needs to be handed with caution during his development phase.
The Dane was in sparkling scoring form with eight goals from as many games earlier this year before being sidelined for a month with a muscular concern.
It is quite clear that United can’t place the entire scoring burden on a 21-year-old striker and En-Nesyri would be a quality acquisition for a relatively cheap price.
Vamos Sevilla recently reported that the striker could be available for £21-26 million.
Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy is another possible candidate, but the Guinean is already 28 years of age. This could urge the hierarchy to prefer a younger alternative.
