Mets Rained out Monday vs. Dodgers; Doubleheader Scheduled for Tuesday

The New York Mets announced on Monday that their series opener against the Dodgers was postponed due to weather. The team never attempted to play, instead opting to play it safe and stand by the gloomy, looming forecast for the rest of the day.

Instead, the two teams will play a single admission doubleheader on Tuesday, May 28, beginning at 4:10 P.M. ET. 

Tylor Megill and Gavin Stone were set to face off in the opener but will meet tomorrow instead if the teams stick with their original rotation matchups. José Quintana and Tyler Glasnow will battle on the mound in the nightcap. David Peterson will make his season debut in the series finale for the Mets.

The Mets come off another series loss against the Giants, although they managed to salvage the finale with a walk-off win. The Dodgers, meanwhile, enter Queens with a five-game losing streak, their longest since 2019. Both teams hope the series will lead to better fortunes.

The last time these teams faced in April, the Mets bested the Dodgers 2-1. However, the Dodgers outscored the Mets in that series; Los Angeles crossed the plate 18 times, whereas New York only touched home plate 15 times.
