One dead in fatal hit-skip motorcycle crash in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is dead and investigators are searching for a vehicle after a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle in Franklin Township Monday evening.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at approximately 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Brown Road and Frank Road.

A Honda Civic 4-door was turning from Frank Road onto Brown Road and drove in front of a 2002 Honda motorcycle driving west on Frank Road, which caused the motorcycle to hit the rear passenger side of the Honda, the sheriff's office said.

The Civic then fled the scene driving north on Brown Road without stopping, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 6:46 p.m.

The sheriff's office said the Honda is a tan/gold early 2000s Civic LX with aftermarket wheels that looked like six-spoke wheels and a small spoiler on the trunk. Photos of the suspect vehicle can be seen below.
