Latimer on NY-16 race: 'It's not a popularity contest'
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Westchester County Executive George Latimer and U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman, the two candidates in the Democratic primary for New York’s 16th Congressional District, faced off in a debate on PIX11 Tuesday night.
PIX11 political reporter Henry Rosoff spoke with Latimer after the debate.
"It's not a popularity contest. It is whether or not you have the grasp to have what it takes as a legislator to accomplish something, not only from the district standpoint but also by contributing to the overall nation. I have been in office for a number of years, and I have proven that I can do that," said Latimer.
