The 3p hack Mrs Hinch fans turn to when a stowaway tissue ruins their washing & you’ve probably got some in the cupboard
THERE are few things more annoying than opening the washing machine to find that a stowaway tissue has left bits all over your clean clothes.
People often resort to taking everything out of the machine, shaking it vigorously and re-washing it – although even that doesn’t get rid of the bits the majority of the time.
But there’s a new hack that Mrs Hinch fans have been talking about online, that claims to remove all those pesky tissue pieces in one go.
Samantha took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group on Facebook to ask for advice, sharing pictures of her tissue-covered clothes and writing: “What’s the best way to get a wet tissue off your washing please?
“Had a tissue disaster!”
The comments section was immediately filled with people offering their suggestions.
But there was one offering that really stood out from the rest.
“Soluble aspirin really works,” one person wrote.
“I usually dissolve some and put it in the drawer.
“Don’t know how it works but it does!”
“Rewash in 2 washes, add 8 aspirin to each wash and white vinegar,” another said.
“Apparently this works.
“I’ve never tried it myself, but can’t see it doing any harm to the clothes!”
“I tried the aspirin method it took 2 attempts but it did work!” a third added.
“Any remaining bits came off with a lint roller.”
“I tried the aspirin method and it worked,” someone else wrote.
“I put six aspirin in the washer on top of the clothes and washed the items again and most of the tissue came off!”
“Wash again with Aspirin. Has always worked for me,” another agreed.

Others insisted they swear by the tumble dryer method when a tissue issue emerges.
“Tumble dry with screwed up balls of foil in the drum,” one wrote.
“I had this problem the other day and it worked a treat.
“Any tiny flecks left can be removed with lint roller or sellotape.”
“If you have a tumble drier put the things in there and dry as long as possible,” another said.
“Otherwise dry items first and then take a stiff brush to them but not on delicate fabrics.
“Just keep giving these a good shake!
“I have had this happen loads of time when a tissue gets left in a pocket, so now have to go through EVERY POCKET before washing item!”
“Tumble dryer with a couple of fabric conditioner sheets,” a third wrote.
“I keep a pack under the sink for just such an emergency – works every time!”
And some people took to the comments section to share their own methods – many of which they’d tried and tested themselves.
“Sellotape, wrap round your hand and keep patting or rubbing,” one wrote.
“Hoover with curtain attachment. Good luck!”
“Apparently popping up a new green and yellow scourer in with the wash will attract the tissue,” another said.
“Split the load, wash again with added bicarb of soda. I do this a lot and it always works!” a third promised.
“One of the best things I found was using a sticky roller (Primark has good ones) and that takes a lot of the tissue off,” someone else said.
“I’ve left tissues in jeans pockets a few times and it is such a nuisance!”
