From Amanda Holden’s hot tub disaster to star accidentally flashing ‘tiny’ willy – when celebs stripping off goes wrong
THEY may have huge mansions, flashy cars, and enviable wardrobes worth hundreds of thousands.
But our favourite celebrities are not immune to being left red-faced by those “did that just happen” moments.
Last week, pop megastar Ed Sheeran recalled an awkward moment after a night out drinking that he wishes had never happened.
The 33-year-old said he went to bed naked and woke up in the middle of the night to “take a p**s”.
But, unfortunately for him, he opened the wrong door.
He explained: “Suddenly the door closed and I opened my eyes and I was in the corridor, completely naked, without a key to my room.”
Realising he had been caught on the hotel’s CCTV cameras, he was forced to steal a napkin from a room service tray to shield his modesty.
Ed then had to go to the hotel lobby to ask for help getting back into his room, and his problems only got worse when a front desk worker recognised him.
After begging him not to “f*cking tell anyone,” he asked the hotel to delete the CCTV video of him, saying that was definitely his “most embarrassing moment”.
But Ed isn’t the only celeb to have been caught in the nuddy…
Hot stuff
There’s no better way of sprucing up the action in the bedroom than taking it out of the bedroom.
Paddy McGuiness did exactly that when he and his then-wife Christine thought about getting frisky in the kitchen as she cooked.
Paddy, 50, explained to The Sun: “So, what happened was that I jumped on the kitchen counter naked and pretty much sat on a chilli, and it wasn’t the best of experiences, I can tell you.
“Once bitten, twice, shy, that’s for sure. Let me tell you, it was like a ring of fire.
“I know some people can’t even put chillies in their mouth — and if you do put them in your mouth, they usually leave your body from the same place that I sat on, if you know what I mean.
“It’s not something I’ll be repeating.
“I had to cool the whole situation down in the end and used some Sudocrem and a very cold bath.
“I have now made a full recovery.”
Tumble gym
Carol Vorderman is known for maintaining her stunning figure with rigorous workouts.
During one of these exercises, the former Countdown host decided to go naked.
But she soon found out it wasn’t the best idea.
Writing on social media, the 63-year-old said: “It’s hilarious. Pain? I fell off a treadmill running naked (don’t ask). Now covered in burns and doctor’s dressings!”
She explained further to The Sun: “I was boiling, so I decided to step off the treadmill and take my clothes off.
“The problem was when I stepped back on I forgot the belt was running so I slipped and fell on to my back.
“I was holding on to the hand bar, but the whole time, the belt was running against my skin.
“I had really bad grazes all over my arms, legs and back and had to go to the doctor.”
Bum deal
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, 53, is no stranger to flashing her skin.
But in 2022, it ended with a nasty leg injury.
Explaining what happened on her Heart Breakfast Show, she said: “We’re lucky enough to have a hot tub in our garden, and my husband walks down in his dressing gown,
“I always think I’m not going to bother with that, I’ll just run down there naked and run back in.”
But there was one time she didn’t notice the black ice on her patio.
She continued: “Down the M4 and I slipped, right on my bum and elbow, and I’ve got a lovely bruise. But it was right on the fleshy part of my bum.
“That’s why God invented bums isn’t it, because they are like the cushions you can fall over, when you’re 50 and fall on black ice…
“Anyway then I got into the hot tub and got out and I’ve got a bruise, and it’s only affected me now.”
Lew-d and rude
In 2019, Lewis Capaldi decided to film himself singing naked and seductively to Shania Twain‘s hit You’re Still the One.
In the video, he said: “This is my shower in my hotel room in New York – and this is the window.
“I’m standing here with not an item of clothing on my back – b****k naked and open to the elements.”
Zooming in on a man in the car park, Lewis, 27, said: “And I’m just thinking, this guy can definitely see me… he’s definitely getting a face full of my balls.”
He then joked, “Cmon, let’s go to New York for the week, let’s look at the sights. There’s the Empire State Building… and there’s Lewis Capaldi’s tiny wee c**k.”
Stark truth
Performing at the London Olympics in 2012 was a dream come true for the Spice Girls.
But Mel B had no idea she would be flashing two of the world’s biggest supermodels shortly afterwards.
After the group’s show-stopping performance, Mel, 49, was backstage taking off the skin-tight body suit she’d worn for the show and found herself naked.
At that moment, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss walked in, seeing the singer in all her glory.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she said: “To get my costume off you had to go fully naked.
“So I’m sitting there on the loo, naked with Mel C and then in walked Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
“Melanie was like, ‘You couldn’t even write that.’ I won’t tell you what happened next but it was lovely.”
Baking bad
In 2022, the Great British Bake Off‘s Laura Adlington, 34, was left horrified when she accidentally flashed builders hard at work.
She took to her Instagram to narrate how the awkward moment came about.
She wrote: “So I’ve just opened the enormous curtains in my hotel room, butt naked to three builders on scaffolding that are probably about five metres away from my face”.
“Not just my face… I immediately shut the curtains and now dying. Literally dying.”
Hero to zero
Even Hollywood superstars are not exempt from suffering toe-curling blunders.
Back in 2016, Henry Cavill, 41, explained how he found himself sleepwalking naked in a Los Angeles hotel after going out for dinner and a drink with his agent.
The Brit star told Seth Meyers: “I passed out, a bit jetlagged, and I woke up to the sound of my door closing in my hotel room.
“Of course, I then realised that I was on the outside of my door – and I had no clothes on.
“I had completely gotten up to go for a pee, and the way the bed was set up was, at the foot of the bed was the entrance to the hotel by my room, and to the left of the bed was where the bathroom was.
“I got out the right-hand side of the bed, and just went straight for the first door I saw, and woke up completely naked in the hallway.”
But he still needed to pee and ended up going up a fire escape to urinate off the hotel’s roof.

When the 89-year-old opened up about her embarrassing moments last year, fans were shocked to hear some of her raunchy secrets.
It all started when her daughter, Finty Williams, called her to remind her of a friend’s birthday. Finty mentioned the celebrant was taking a walk with Judi’s co-star Ben Whishaw at Regent’s Park.
