Arrest made in connection to missing Ville Platte woman

UPDATE: An arrest has been made into the disappearance of Keke Doucet. A suspect who is wanted for questioning in the disappearance is in custody. Ville Platte Police arrested Jerry Verrette. He is being held in the Evangeline Parish jail on Soliciting for prostitutes charge.

VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) – The family of Keke Doucet is on day nine of their search after she went missing, they're hope is also at an all time high as they are now getting some additional help. 

"Day 9. We still out here searching. We had some leads again, like we telling the public, any lead is a good lead," says Keke's cousin, Renee Griffith.

Keke Doucet went missing on June 15 after she was planning to pick up her daughter from a sleepover at Hargrove City Park. When Doucet's daughter was unable to find her mother, Doucet's family said the search began, putting up signs and hosting a prayer vigil that led to support across the city. "We are very, very appreciative of everyone just calling, bringing things out, drinks, food, just them giving in their prayers, all the prayers."

As the family continued to search, additional help arrived when the United Cajun Navy made their way into the city to assist in the search. They checked locations that include the “Slap Ya Momma” factory, as well as large properties that can be covered by a drone and search dogs that can track Doucet's scent.

While Doucet is still missing, Griffith believes her family can locate Keke and find closure. "I believe that we're going to get some closure. We're going to find Keke and I think she's going to be good and will again, keep sharing the poles, keep her name out there everywhere. Nationwide."

Moving forward, those on both sides of Doucet's family hope Keke's name will stay out there and people will continue to spread word of the search until she's found.
